Installation
The AfS-S Brick is designed to be installed in the same manner as a normal brick. A lintel is not required. The AfS S-Brick is secured by pointing with mortar.
To maximise the benefits of the AfS S-Brick it should be installed:
At no less than 4 metres above the ground (5 metres is better). There is no maximum height!). Gables are ideal, otherwise high up under eaves
At no less than 0.5 metres distance between each AfS S-Brick (1 metre is better)
In a manner whereby there are no obstructions in the flyway

PLEASE ADOPT APPROPRIATE SAFETY MEASURES WHEN INSTALLING THIS PRODUCT AT THE RECOMMENDED HEIGHT
The animation below shows the installation of an AfS S-Brick in a standard brick wall with a 100mm cavity. Whilst this shows the installation with a cavity tray, it is not expected that one is fitted as there is minimal risk of water incursion and this is not a usual step required.
AfS S-Bricks placed high up under eaves should not require a cavity tray. In a gable with unheated roof space inside, there is no risk of cold bridging.
